​ENTSO-E re-elects Bente Hagem from Statnett, Norway, as Chair of the Board and elects Ben Voorhorst, TenneT, Netherlands, as President of the Assembly.

Yesterday in Brussels, ENTSO-E Assembly elected Ben Voorhorst as its new President. Ben Voorhorst, COO of TenneT with operations in both The Netherlands and Germany, has a long in company career holding high level positions in relations with ITS, data management and cyber-security. He is notably a Board member of the Dutch Council for cyber security and the Dutch association for energy data exchange.

The Assembly also re-elected Bente Hagem as Chair of the Board. Bente is the Executive Vice-President responsible for European Affairs of Statnett. She held several high-level positions in Statnett and Statoil and is a recognized expert in the field of market design, market coupling and wholesale markets.

The Chairs of the different ENTSO-E Committees were also elected. Sébastien Lepy, Deputy Director European Affairs RTE (France), and Joachim Vanzetta, Director System Control Amprion (Germany), remain respectively Chair of the System Development Committee and Chair of the System Operations Committee.

Konrad Purchala, Director, Market Development PSE (Poland), will succeed to Pascale Fonck, Chief Officer External Relations Elia (Belgium), as Chair of the Market Committee. Guido Guida, Director National Dispatching, Terna (Italy), succeeds to Carlo Sabelli, Responsible International Relations Terna, at the head of the Research, Development & Innovation Committee. Finally, Ines de la Barreda, Responsible Regulatory Affairs, REE (Spain), will lead the Legal and Regulatory Group. She replaces Milan Roman, SEPS (Slovakia).

The newly elected persons will take office end of June 2017 and at the same time the Assembly will designate its Vice-President and elect the ten ENTSO-E Board members.
