Frequency deviations - Continental European TSOs have restored the situation to normal

Published: 03/04/2018

Following frequency deviations that affected the Continental Europe Power System between mid-January and beginning of March, the Continental Europe transmission system operators carried out a collective compensation programme to restore the situation back to normal.

Concretely, they put over the course of March more energy in the system and maintained the average electric frequency at 50.01 Hz.

One of the effects is notably that the digital clocks geared by electric frequency are now back on time.

ENTSO-E will continue to support all parties in finding a long lasting agreement between the authorities of Serbia and Kosovo on energy.
