Umbrella and iTesla projects organize a workshop: “Innovative Tools Needed for Future and Stable System Operation” to be held at ENTSO-E’s premises at Avenue Cortenbergh 100, Brussels 1000, Belgium, on 21 June 2012.
The aim of the Umbrella and iTesla projects is to research and develop innovative tools for the future coordinated and stable operation of the pan-European electricity system.
It is the first time that the iTesla and Umbrella projects are holding an open workshop to present their ideas to a wider audience. The iTesla and Umbrella projects are co-funded by the7th Research Framework Programme (FP7). The projects are linked to Topic ENERGY.2011.7.2.1 of the ENERGY-2011-1 Call and started their work in January 2012.
The aim of both projects is to develop a simulation toolbox supporting future coordinated operations of the pan European electricity transmission network. Both projects are part of the ENTSO-E Research and Development Plan and the EEGI Roadmap which is part of the European SET plan. The results will enable TSOs to ensure secure grid operation also in future electricity networks with high penetration of intermittent renewables.
It enables TSOs to act in a coordinated European target system where regional strategies converge to ensure the best possible use of the European electricity infrastructure.
This event provides for an opportunity for electricity transmission system operators, academics, industry researchers, market and industry analysts, government officials and policy makers, to exchange ideas and develop new visions for the future operation of the electricity transmission network.
