A public stakeholder workshop was held in Brussels on Tuesday 7 May 2013, to jointly address the Network Code on Load Frequency Control and Reserves and the Network Code on Electricity Balancing.
These two network codes are closely interrelated, addressing technical requirements and market solutions to establish cross-border balancing mechanisms in Europe. Beyond the discussion on the individual codes, this joint workshop aimed to clarify the interface and interdependencies between them.
- For the Network Code on Load Frequency Control and Reserves, this workshop forms part of the public consultation process and provided stakeholders with the opportunity to discuss their views on an updated draft and during a Q&A session.
For the Network Code on Electricity Balancing, this workshop provided the first opportunity to present the draft network code to a wider stakeholder group. Focus was on the main concepts and mechanisms defined in the network code and the next steps towards public consultation in the summer of 2013.
The draft network code and supporting document are available through the links below.
