Following ACER’s Opinion on the Network Code on “Requirements for Generators” (NC RfG), received on 13 October 2012, which requested further work on four specific areas to ensure compliance of the code with the Framework Guidelines on Electricity Grid Connections, ENTSO-E discussed possible actions and scenarios with the RfG User Group and DSO Technical Expert Group. ENTSO-E concluded these discussions and prepared several amendments to the code for resubmission to ACER, which were presented during a public information session on 7 March 2013 in Brussels.
This public information session presented the amendments to the NC RfG; an overview of the ENTSO-E response to ACER’s Opinion; reflection on the recent stakeholder interactions; and outlining of the next phase. The public information session was held at the ENTSO-E premises in Brussels, from 12:00 to 15:30.
ENTSO-E finalised the Network Code on “Requirements for Generators” (NC RfG) in July 2012 and submitted it to ACER for its reasoned opinion on compliance of the code with the Framework Guidelines on Electricity Grid Connections. ACER’s Opinion, received on 13 October 2012, requested further work in four areas before giving its positive recommendation to the EC which can initiate the adoption process of the code as binding European Regulation.
Acknowledging the importance of thoroughly addressing all the four areas, ENTSO-E conducted two RfG User Group meetings and a DSO Technical Expert Group meeting to discuss possible proposals. A briefing note sent to the User Group on 17 December 2012 summarised a set of specific proposals. With feedback from the latest User Group in a meeting on 16 January 2013, ENTSO-E has prepared the formal response to ACER’s Opinion.
