iTesla Network Security Assessment Days

Date: 04/11/2015 -

4-5 November 2015, 9.30 to 4.30, at the Liaison Agency Flanders-Europe (VLEVA), Avenue de Cortenbergh 71, Brussels

The iTesla consortium is pleased to invite you to the presentation of the project outputs:

A new generation of security assessment tools to support the transmission network operation, allowing to cope with increasingly uncertain operating conditions while taking advantage of the growing flexibility of the grid.

The event is organised along two days:

- Day 1, November 4th: Concepts and theoretical results in iTesla
- Day 2, November 5th: Operational use and added value of iTesla prototype toolbox

DAY 1 primarily targets Academics, IT developers and R&D teams of TSOs, and will detail the project results: risk-based security assessment; massive dynamic modeling via High Performance Computing; data mining to serve uncertainty modeling; power system modeling using new languages such as Modelica.- risk-based security assessment; dynamic security assessment with massive time domain simulations using High Performance Computing; data mining to serve uncertainty modeling; power system modeling and dynamic simulations using Modelica concepts and presentation of open sourced solutions; optimisation of curative actions.

DAY 2 essentially targets operational staff of TSOs and will focus on a demo of the iTesla prototype tools. Several use cases will be presented, focusing on different zones of the European network, as for instance France-Belgium. The flexibility of the platform will be illustrated with different tools, e.g. for dynamic assessments, for Human-Machine interface, and for data exchange (in particular in CIM format).

During both days, each participant will have the opportunity:

  • to visit the CORESO coordination center and hear about the added value of the iTesla toolbox when providing coordination services for the secure operation of the pan-European transmission network,
  • to attend a hands-on workshop where the iTesla Power System Library will be presented as well as a hands-on tutorial for the RAPID tool supporting the validation of dynamic models.

Agenda, registration and venue:

The sessions will take place from 8.45 am to 5.00 pm at the Liaison Agency Flanders-Europe (VLEVA), Avenue de Cortenbergh 71, Brussels (in front of the ENTSO-E premises and in the same building as CORESO).
