ENTSO-E event on TSO cooperation and security of supply, jointly organised with Elia on 2 December 2014, gathered approximately 50 selected attendees from the European institutions and the media. The event took place in Elia's control room in Brussels, and featured
a live demonstration of the ENTSO-E Awareness System (EAS). Launched in 2013, the EAS is a sophisticated IT tool for TSO cooperation which allows trasmission system operators from 32 countries to monitor in real time the entire European power system, ensuring fast and appropriate reaction in crisis situations.
The demonstration was followed by a public debrief on ENTSO-E Winter Outlook Report 2014/2015, published on 1 December.
Speakers included Elia's CEO Jacques Vandermeiren, ACER's Head of Electricity Department Christophe Gence-Creux, EC Deputy Head of Unit for the IEM Oliver Koch, as well as the Chairman of ENTSO-E's System Operations Committee Carlo Sabelli from Terna. Olivier Lebois from ENTSOG also contributed with a presentation of the impact of the Ukraine crisis on security of supply in the EU.
