What infrastructure is needed for a European power market with more and more renewables, requiring flexibility at all ends?

How can interconnection boost regional integration and security of supply?

How can the European Parliament play a decisive role in complex processes like the Ten-Year Network Development Plan and the Projects of Common Interest?

Electricity is becoming more and more important, not least due to the electrification of heating, cooling and transport. The energy transition is changing the energy market and this poses new challenges for the efficiency and sustainability of the market.

The European Commission's Communication on the Energy Union and its more recent consultative communication on market design recognise these challenges and have initiated an important legislative process to address them together with Member States and the European Parliament.  

During this breakfast, the discussants will introduce their perspectives on more interconnection, on public acceptance, as well as empowered customers. Thereafter the floor will be opened for discussion.
