2nd Public Stakeholder Workshop on the Operational Security Network Code

Date: 02/07/2012 -

ENTSO-E held a second public stakeholder workshop on the Operational Security Network Code (OS NC) on 2 July 2012 in Brussels, Belgium.

The aim of the public stakeholder workshop was to present updates made to the network code based on stakeholder feedback received in the first OS NC workshops held with stakeholders and with the DSO technical expert group on 20 April 2012.

An updated draft of the OS NC is available here, taking into account feedback provided to ENTSO-E on 20 April. Along with the updated network code, ENTSO-E also released a supporting document  introducing the legal framework of the draft code, presenting the code's objectives, explaining ENTSO-E's approach to develop the code, outlining related challenges and opportunities and describing how the code will fulfil the requirements set out by ACER's corresponding framework guideline.

The workshop was an opportunity for stakeholders including DSOs, industrial electricity consumers, generators, energy traders and turbine suppliers to provide feedback on the current status of the network code. As outlined on the OS NC webpage  further stakeholder workshops will be held throughout the drafting period of the OS NC.

The European Commission officially invited ENTSO-E to start formally drafting the OS NC on 24 February 2012. The code must be in line with ACER's Framework Guidelines on Electricity System Operation and submitted to ACER by 1 March 2013.
